Abstract:

Researchers intend to take an effective step in the environmental sustainability of buildings by applying new technologies. Photocatalytic nanoparticle technology is used today as an environmental solution in some countries. In this paper we refer to previous studies on the use of titanium dioxide, silicon and nanosilica as composite materials in prefabricated concrete lightweight structural elements or concrete coatings to reduce contamination on the surface and water absorption percentage of samples and to control Structural quality will be discussed.In this study, the effect of different percentages of TiO۲ on water absorption of cement composites containing nano-silica and silica fume was investigated.The results showed that the addition of TiO۲ had a positive effect on decreasing of water absorption. Water absorption was significantly reduced when silica fume was used as partial replacement for cement. It shows that silica fume incorporation leads to better durability performance of cement composites. Also incorporation of TiO۲ considerably lowered the water absorption due to the filler effect.
