The growing threat of global warming and climate change has been a major concern since the ۱۹۹۰s. Since greenhouse gas emissions are mainly due to the combustion of fossil fuels, energy production and consumption are at the heart of the climate change debate. In addition, the fossil fuels used to produce goods are a source of environmental degradation and endanger human health. Today's societies are turning to renewable energy sources that do not pollute the air and are freely available in nature. In this paper, considering the importance of renewable energy sources and its effect on CO۲ emissions, the long-term relationship between renewable and non-renewable energy consumption on CO۲ emissions in Asian countries in the period ۱۹۶۵-۲۰۱۹ has been discussed. The results show that the consumption of non-renewable energy increases carbon dioxide emissions and the consumption of renewable energy leads to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The Kuznets hypothesis was also confirmed, and economic growth leads to an increase in carbon dioxide emissions and the square of economic growth leads to a decrease. Also, the rate of urbanization causes the emission of carbon dioxide emissions and foreign direct investment leads to its reduction.
