Abstract:

Asphaltene precipitation is a serious and complex problem in oil recovery processes. And affects all aspects of oil production, processing and transportation. Due to the complex and highly polydisperse composition of the asphaltene fraction it is defined operationally as the fraction of the crude oil precipitating in light alkenes such as n-pentane, hexane, or heptane and soluble in aromatic solvents such as toluene and benzene.asphaltene are the heaviest and most polar molecules in the crude oil. Under reservoir temperature and pressure conditions, they are stabilized and start to precipitate when the pressure, temperature, or composition changes occur during primary production. It is very important to predict the asphaltene precipitation during the production process. Many models have been developed to predict the precipitation behavior of asphaltene. This work by using of compositional CMG simulator implements the model of Nghiem et al .to predict the precipitation during naturally production due to pressure depletion of a sample of Mexican crude oil reservoirs[10] And discusses the effective parameters of simulator on asphaltene precipitation simulation.
