One apparent discordance in infallibles’ behavior especially the Prophet (PBUH) and Imams is the existence of invocations in which they ask God for forgiveness whereas we believe that the infallibles never commit any kind of mistake from birth to death. The question is: Why do the infallibles contrite if they never commit a sin and if they are wrongdoers, why are they known as infallibles? The deceased Erbeli says their contrition is due to their involvement in their personal matters and inadvertence towards Allah. This response has many fans to the extent that is breached in academic books in universities. In our opinion, the infallibles’ contrition has other reasons which will be explained in this article in addition to mentioning other thinkers’ opinions and reviewing them.
