The role of covid۱۹ in mental health among long term care staffs: systematic review

Objective: covid۱۹ pandemic is having negative effects in the staffs mental health but these effects are less known. the aim of this review was to collate evidence and explore the role of covid۱۹ in psychological disorder of LTC(long term care) staffs.Method: this systematic review examining mental health of LTC staffs in covid۱۹ pandemic ( may۲۰۲۰ – feb ۲۰۲۲). The mesh terms “ covid۱۹” and “long term care” and “mental health” were searched in “PUBMED” and “CINAHL” and “Cochrane library” and “science direct” and English language articles. Review, news, case report/ series studies were excluded.Results: twenty studies were related to mental health of LTC staff، More than half of the studies were about stress and anxiety and a quarter of them identified depression among LTC staffs. As well as emotional burnout, distress، insomnia and moral trauma were other psychological disorders observed in LTC staffs.Conclusion: this pandemic has caused many psychological damage to staff including LTC staff however they are the forgotten. Recommended that future researches explore the long term effects of the pandemic in LTC staffs and also consider psychological support of them as a vital resource for maintaining flexibility،professional satisfaction، increasing mental health and better adaptions
