Abstract:

Profilin proteins (PRFs) are small (۱۲-۱۵ kDa) actin-binding proteins that play an important role incytoskeletal dynamics and plant growth by regulating actin polymerization. In this study, PRF genes wereselected in Brachypodium. Phylogenetic tree and prediction of cis-elements as well as analysis ofchromosomal distribution in Brachypodium species were analyzed to evaluate the performance of thesegenes. Our results showed that the phylogenetic tree of PRF genes of different species (beans, Arabidopsis,Brachypodium and barley) were divided into two groups. Based on chromosomal position analysis, PRFgenes were distributed on chromosomes ۱ and ۲. Also, based on the analysis of PRF protein sequences usingMEME database, this protein contained ۳ conserved motifs. Our findings can be considered as a useful sourcefor future studies of PRF genes in studies between different plant species. The aim of this study was toidentify and describe PRF genes in Brachypodium species through genome analysis.
