Abstract:
In this paper, two benchmarks are presented for evaluating the accuracy of the Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of interphase mass transfer in gas-liquid multiphase systems The benchmarks were designed such that each part of the mass transfer model can be evaluated. The first benchmark is an unsteady diffusion problem, which was used to evaluate the unsteady and diffusive terms of the mass transfer model. The next benchmark is a laminar fully developed stratified two phase flow of Gas-Liquid between two horizontal plates. This case evaluate both the convective and diffusion term of the mass transfer model
