Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Since using inappropriate shoes could be one of the reasons for running injuries, this study undertaken to comparison of temporal variables of ground reaction force (GRF) during the stance phase of running using unstable and ordinary shoes. Methods: ۲۰ active females were participated in this study. Using Paired t-test, peak values of GRFs and vertical instantaneous and average loading rates were evaluated during the stance phase of running with a conventional shoe (Knup) and an unstable shoe (Perfect steps). Results: Vertical impact peak was significantly lower while lateral GRF peak and vertical loading rates were greater during stance phase of running in unstable shoe compared with control shoe (p≤۰.۰۵). Conclusion: Due to the results, unstable shoes create more shock-related running injuries, indeed, using unstable shoe has no advantage for runners in prevention or treatment of these injuries.
