Abstract:
It can be said that the architecture of Gilan (north of Iran) has a direct relationship with its regional climate and the purpose of writing this research is to achieve the traditional architecture of this point of temperate and humid climate and the results obtained from this study show the principles of climate in architecture and construction of traditional buildings. Also, in the traditional architecture of Gilan, due to high humidity and rain and surface water conduction, the architectural elements of the region include house, Kotam, Kunduj, Tombbar. These conditions are not exclusive to Gilan, raised granaries on pillars for the protection and preservation of food can be found throughout Europe and other parts of the world. In this sense, the Horreos of Asturias (northwest of Spain) are of special interest due to their similarities with their Gilan counterparts, the Kunduj. In this document, an approach will be made to the idiosyncrasy of these traditional constructions that help to better understand these fundamental constructions of peasant life.
