Abstract:
Synthesizing plant-derived nanoparticles attract attention due to both their broad-spectrum biological applications and sustainable production. This paper describes the production of Cobalt oxide nanoparticles (Co۳O۴ NPs) using M. charantia leaf extract. The Uv–Vis absorption spectrum of them has peaks at ۳۰۹ and ۵۹۵nm. FTIR spectroscopy reveals bands at ۵۸۰cm-۱ and ۶۶۷cm-۱ and confirms the formation of Co۳O۴. The particle size was determined by XRD to be between ۴۴.۶۸ and ۸۹.۲۰nm. The Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) showed that Co۳O۴ NPs were irregular in shape and between ۴۰ and ۹۰nm in size. Further, the dye degrading capacity of this nanoparticle was ascertained. The dye degrading capacity of Co۳O۴ NPs exhibited was ۸۱.۵۰% obtained at ۹۰ minutes of light irradiation.
