Abstract:
Interior designers use human-centered approaches to address our daily lives. Various studies have shown that there is a favorable relationship between exposure to nature and lower levels of stress. This has a positive effect on our health, both physically and mentally. The purpose of this article, is to investigate the effect of Biophilic design in interior spaces to reduce stress. Biophilia (meaning love of nature) focuses on human’s innate attraction to nature and natural processes. The interior spaces, which are design according to the Biophilia elements, they have the best effect to reduce stress, blood pressure and heart rates. The Biophilia effect proves that humans long for a connection with nature. Biophilic design, improves many of the interior spaces and it also has numerous benefits to our health and well-being.
