Abstract:

Background and objective: Emission of toxic air pollutants and exposed to thesethreated pollutants can be increased risk of cancer among residents that inhalation oftoxic air pollutants. The aim of this study was estimation of exposure to toxic airpollutants and relationship with increase carcinogenic risk assessment.Methods: In this study, first literature was performed with two hundred and seventyarticles were retrieved based on Web of Science, PubMed, Elsevier, Springer, andGoogle Scholar databases. In final stage the literature signs a notable health effects(carcinogenic risk assessment) because of exposure to toxic air pollutants.Results: Based on result, exposed to the toxic air pollutants can enhancementcarcinogenic risk and lifetime cancer risk between peoples that live in contaminantsregions. Findings showed that toxic air pollutants such as PAHs, VOCs, heavy metals,Pb and particulate matter are the main pollutants that can causes health endpointincluding cardiovascular and respiratory disease, Asthma, increased risk of cancer andmortality.Conclusion: Calculates of carcinogenic risk assessment need to performepidemiological studies for estimate actually all of the prospects, angles and factorsinfluencing the calculation of carcinogenicity indices.
