Abstract:

An efficient and convenient approach to construct Csp۳–Csp۳ bonds via catalyst-free KOH-MeOH/air mediated oxidative homo- and cross-coupling reaction was reported. In this study, benzylic and quasi-benzylic reactants, such as toluene, pyridine, and quinoline derivatives were used to perform an oxidative coupling reaction via convenient air oxygen. The corresponding products were obtained with reasonable yields.
