Abstract:

Reduction in fossil fuels sources in earthhas caused the humans to think about using renewableenergies such as wind. Collecting precise data from wind andparticularly its speed is the most important step in using thewind energy as power plants. In this article, a system has beendesigned, analyzed, and fabricated to use wind energy byapplying a piezoelectric convertor to supply the requiredpower for a remote sensor network and wind measurement. Thus, the efficiency of the system is analyzed by performingsome practical experiments. The developed system in thisexperiment is capable of producing ۲۴۵ microwatt of energyper ۲۰۰ kilo ohm resistance in an ۱۱ m/s wind speed by usingonly one single piezoelectric convertor. Piezoelectric Sensorwith two piezoelectric needs more force to reach thepiezoelectric break point and optimized wind speed value isequal or greater than ۱۴ m/s. In this case, the internal resistantvalue for piezoelectric is doubled (۴۰۰ kilo ohms) and thevalue of produced electrical power at wind speed of ۱۴ m/sand resistant load of ۴۰۰ kilo ohms is equal to ۴۸۳ microwatt. Also, it works as a sensor for measuring wind speed byproducing pulses in different speeds. Therefore, it would bepossible to measure wind speeds in remote areas and alsowind speeds higher than the threshold level and to sendalarms in warning systems in cases of thunderstorms.
