Abstract:
In general, seismic recognition of basement fractures is challenging. In terms of the fractured basement reservoir exploration, delineation of faults and fractures network are critical. Advanced study is needed to delineate potential reservoir of fractured basement. In-line to that, multi-seismic attributes act as one of the best ‘tool’ in fracture delineation. The idea of this research is to determine the best attributes in delineating fracture system of X-basement. Also, to compare the response of attribute extraction on near and far pre- stacked ۳D seismic cube in enhancing fractures of X-basement. Based on comparison, ۳D maximum curvature, variance edge method, t*attenuation and iso- frequency can be one of the best to help interpreter to identify the possibly highly fractured region. From the second objective of the research, the near stack highlight fracture better than far stack in most cases. Thus, this paper is focusing on identifying fractures distribution by applying multi seismic attribute. As the future work from this study, unconventional method, neural network can be explored to trace the fractures and utilize other attributes for better fracture delineation.
