Abstract:

Growing evidence suggests that changes in vitamin D homeostasis may play an important role in insulin resistance and the pathology of obesity, so that increased vitamin D levels increase cellular homeostasis by increasing insulin sensitivity. On the other hand, aerobic endurance exercise plays an important role in preventing and controlling obesity and overweight by increasing insulin-induced glucose metabolism. However, the combined effects of vitamin D supplementation and acute aerobic exercise on insulin resistance in overweight individuals are unclear. However, the aim of the present study was to investigate the interactive effect of acute aerobic exercise with vitamin D supplementation on serum levels of ۲۵-hydroxyvitamin D, insulin, glucose and insulin resistance in overweight girls. The study population consisted of female students of Guilan University, of whom ۱۶ with a body mass index of ۲۵ to ۳۰ kg / cm۲ were randomly divided into two groups of supplements (۸) and placebo (۸). Each group performed one gel capsule (۱۰,۰۰۰ units) supplemented with vitamin D۳ and placebo (sesame oil) and two rounds of acute aerobic exercise each week for ۴ weeks through a treadmill that exhausted the treadmill. Then, in four different time intervals, ۵ cc of blood samples were taken from the subjects brachial vein. The results showed that the effect of time and group effect on ۲۵ hydroxyvitamin D, insulin and glucose variables was significant in the supplement group (P ≤ ۰.۰۵), while in the control group there was no significant difference in these variables (P≥ ۰.۰۵). The results also showed that the interactive effect of time in the group was significant in the research variables (P ≤ ۰.۰۵).According to the results, it can be said that increasing serum levels of ۲۵-hydroxyvitamin D may improve glucose metabolism and insulin resistance in overweight girls through supplementation.
