Ginger and the coronavirus pandemic

Background and Objective: The emerging corona virus was reported from Wuhan, China, and quickly spread to other countries. Because of the high prevalence of deaths caused by this pandemic, the use of medicinal plants can be effective in reducing the incidence and complications of the disease.Materials and Methods: This study is a review by searching the valid scientific databases and key words of various words including traditional medicine, plant, treatment, ginger,corona virus. Various articles between January and March ۲۰۲۰ are the sum of ۲۰ articles were analyzed.Results: Coronavirus is caused by respiratory secretions and human contact, first by the respiratory system and then by other vital organs. It attacks the brain, kidneys and liver.Underlying diseases and older age increase the chances of more severe complications. Ginger is a medicinal plant. It has a warm temperament and is widely used in traditional medicine in many countries such as Iran, India, China. Ginger extract in diseases such as respiratory syncytial viruses, influenza, colds are effective and strengthen the immune system. In case of infection and exacerbation it is better not to use it because it causes more vasodilation and complications, and it is more recommended to use it before infection and exacerbation. It is a disease. People with hot temperament and in hot seasons should be used with caution and sweat should be used to moderate the mood.Conclusion: Corona virus is an active disease and there is no definitive herbal or chemical treatment, but the positive effect of herbs such as ginger in prevention is remarkable. It can be one of the windows of hope to deal with this disease.
