Abstract:

Background and Objective: As the COVID-۱۹ vaccine becomes globally available, the global perspective is directed to community vaccine uptake, to reach a highly immunepopulation worldwide. Some sort of factors has been recently reported to affect vaccine intention. This study aimed to investigate the evidence related to vaccination intention, factors that indicate hesitancy among healthcare professionals and the general global population.Materials and Methods: This is a review study conducted in ۱۴۰۰ through an advanced search of reputable scientific databases and websites, including Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. Keywords used include “COVID-۱۹”, “vaccination”, “intention” and articles reviewed from ۲۰۲۰ to ۲۰۲۲. After the initial search, only the title and abstract were examined for relevance to the study objectives and the unrelated articles were excluded. The articles related to the study were also evaluated through the JBI tool. Results: COVID-۱۹ vaccination intention generally worldwide at the begging of the pandemic ranged from ۲۷.۷% to ۹۳.۳%. Observations indented that socio-demographic factors that differentiate general people, risk realizations, and sensitivity to COVID-۱۹ and vaccine characteristics provided effects on vaccination intention. Healthcare professionals, nurses in exclusive have higher vaccine hesitancy related to concerns about vaccine safety and influence and mistrust of health organizations. Negative information about COVID-۱۹ vaccines around the social media and poor confidence in the health system was not related to vaccination intention. Conclusion: The considerable variability in vaccine intention rates universally would potentially prevent efforts to reach the goal of immunity against COVID-۱۹. Nurses’ worriesabout vaccine safety and influence must be addressed to grow vaccine acceptance and achieve the maximum potential effect on vaccination decisions in the community. As false information through social media negatively affects vaccination uptake, authentic and citable information on vaccine characteristics, disease risks ,and vaccination privileges are needed.
