Abstract:
The present study reports the effects of insulated spacing between two heat sources cooled under a horizontal wall on the total heat removal. This technic can be applied to enhance the convective heat transfer on the wall. Constructal theory is utilized to determine the optimal spacing between those heat sources. The objective is maximizing the rate of heat transfer when the constant temperature of the heat sources is determined. Analytical results are achieved to examine the effect of spacing and the length ratio of two heat sources on total heat transfer. It will be shown that for two heat sources with uniform temperature, there exists a certain spacing which can provide the maximum heat removal from the heat sources
