Abstract:

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-۲ (SARS-CoV-۲), ornovel coronavirus COVID-۱۹, has spread quickly throughout the world sinceits initial detection in December ۲۰۱۹. Coronaviruses are single-stranded thatcontain the largest genome among RNA viruses (۲۷–۳۲ kb). The geneticsequence of the COVID-۱۹ was isolated from patients with respiratoryinfection in Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in January ۲۰۲۰. The countrieswith the highest mortality rates are Italy (۹.۳%), Iran (۷.۸%), and Spain (۶%).The aim of this study was to investigate the association between cancer andCovid ۱۹. In this review study conducted in ۱۴۰۰, articles indexed in GoogleScholar, BioRxiv, SID, Science Direct, MEDLINE databases were used. Thereviewed articles included ۱۸ research and review articles related to ۲۰۱۹ to۲۰۲۱, and the most important keywords in this article were Cancer, COVID-۱۹, COVID-۱۹ pandemic, and Genetic.Patients with COVID-۱۹ and cancer who are admitted to the hospital have ahigh case-fatality rate. Adverse prognostic factors, including male sex, oldage, levels of D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase, and chemotherapy, may helpto recognize patients at high risk of mortal consequences. This review showsthat Patients with cancer have a higher risk of severe adverse eventscompared to those who do not have cancer. In recent research, some hostgenes (TLR۷ and TYK۲) have been identified as possible genes involved inincreasing the severity of Covid ۱۹ disease and finally, Real-world data canbe quickly leveraged to understand vital healthcare challenges.
