Comparison of safety and health of sports centers of Tehran Fire Department and Municipality

The objective of this study was to compare safety and health of sports centers of Tehran Fire Department and Municipality. The present study was applied in terms of purpose and data collection method was descriptive. ۲۰۴ indoor sports centers of the Municipality were included in the study by cluster sampling method according to Morgan table. Given the limited number of sports centers of the fire department, the sample size of these centers was equal to the statistical population (n=۲۱). Managers and officials of the mentioned sports centers completed the questionnaire of safety and health of sports centers of Pantera et al. (۲۰۰۳) which has high validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test at the significance level of ۰.۰۵. The results showed no significant difference in the safety of entrance and exit doors, the quality of ventilation and thermostats, the safety of safeguards and facilities of sports centers of the Fire Department and Tehran Municipality (p<۰.۰۵). The safety of locker rooms and showers as well as the toilets of the safeguards was in a better situation than the Fire Department (p<۰.۰۵). However, the facilities of first aid and emergency services and the safety of the enclosed space of the platforms, floors and the place of spectators of the sports facilities of the Fire Department were in a better situation than the Municipality (p<۰.۰۵).
