خلاصه مقاله:
In this study modeling of the ventilated partial and supercavitation about axisymmetric bodies is presented, using boundary element method based on potential flow (BEM). The flow is assumed to be incompressible and irrotational. The ventilated partial cavitation is modeled for a configuration consisting of a disk cavitator followed by a conical section and ending in a cylindrical body and the supercavitation is simulated about a disk cavitator. The cavity is assumed to detach at the edge of the cavitator. The method is successfully validated against the availableexperimental data and analytical solution. The results show that increasing the air entrainment coefficient decreases the cavitation number and consequently leads to an increase in the cavity length. The results of both the ventilated partial and supercavitating cases confirm, increasing the cavity length with the decrease in the cavitation number. The results also show that at a given cavitation number, the partial cavities aregenerally shorter than supercavities
