This paper is concerned with automatic routing table generation in IP-based networks. Evolutionary Learning Classifier Systems (LCS) is employed to generate a population of routing tables. The Evolutionary Router (ER) is designed to evolve a near optimal routing table. The results obtained from using ER in a simulated network is presented and discussed.
