Abstract:

One of the ways to improve the performance of Li-ion batteries is to modify the electrolyte composition that used in these batteries. In this research, the composition of electrolyte was modified with vinyl teriethoxysilane (VTES), and the result was presented. For investigate the effect of additive in electrolyte, the samples ۰%, ۲%, ۵%, ۷% and ۱۰% (V .V-۱) of additive was prepared. The thermal stability of all samples was checked with TGA/DSC analysis that shows, the increase in the quantity of additive (VTES) improve thermal stability in all samples. Furthermore, the electrochemical properties are tested with charge/discharge, linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in cylindrical cell, and cyclic voltammetryin a coin cell.After cycling, the morphological characterization of anode and cathode was investigated with Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), and mapping test.The LSV test was done with ۱ mV .S-۱rate in ۰ – ۶ V voltage window that samples ۰%, ۲%, ۵%, ۷% and ۱۰% begin decompose in ۴.۷, ۵, ۵.۲, ۴.۶ and ۴.۴ Vrespectively.Electrochemical data, confirm that sample with ۵% V .V-۱ additive is the optimal value.
