This article argues that a robust concept of the technosphere—indeed, one that is truly adequate for the Anthropocene—must be approached using multiple methods that do not categorize agencies or rely on hierarchical scalar analysis. became. In this commentary, we draw on feminist science studies scholar Karen Barad's philosophy of agentic realism, and in particular her concept of 'in-action', to identify the sphere's technology as emerging from intertwined practices, sites and infrastructures, and trace the technosphere from it.
