Abstract:

Introduction: Today, herbs are used to improve the function of the body's physiological system and health, and throughout history, herbs have been used as food and medicine to treat or prevent diseases. Simultaneously with the development of new chemical drugs and various antibiotics, the harmful effects of these drugs gradually appeared. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the antibacterial properties of Eryngium caeruleum M.B on pathogenesis microorganisms. Methods: This research is an analytical study with the Narrative Review method in ۲۰۲۱ by searching keywords such as antibacterial family, Eryngium caeruleum M.B, pathogenic factors, and pathogenic microorganisms invalid databases including Science Direct, Web of Science, and PubMed were done, and finally ۴۰ articles were searched, of which ۳۴ articles were included in our study. Results: The obtained results of various studies indicate that the alcoholic extract of portulaca oleracea has a greater antibacterial effect than the aqueous extract of portulaca oleracea. This relatively moisture-loving plant grows like a weed on the roadsides and mountain slopes in the plains of Gorgan, Mazandaran, Gilan, Azerbaijan, Lorestan, Khuzestan, Khorasan, and Tehran. Also, the main compounds in Zolang include various essential oils such as limonene, alpha-pinene, and folic acid. Also, the roots of the plant contain about ۸۸% tannins, sucrose sugar, and Zolang essential oil with a pleasant smell. Conclusion: The diameter of the inhibition zone in both alcoholic and aqueous extracts was related to chloramphenicol, erythromycin, and ampicillin, respectively, and the lowest inhibitory concentration was related to Staphylococcus aureus microorganism.
