Abstract:
The thiocarbohydrazone Schiff-base ligand with a nitrogen and sulphur donor was synthesized through condensation of pyridine-۴-carbaldehyde and thiocarbohydrazide. Schiff-base ligands have the ability to conjugate with metal salts Such as Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) . These metal complexes and ligand were characterized by using ultraviolet–visible, Fourier Transform Infrared, conductivity and ۱H. ۱۳C NMR spectroscopy in the case of ligand. Also the synthesized complexes and ligand were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Staphylococcous aureus, and Proteus vulgaris and results showed that the all complexes have antibacterial effects.
