Abstract:

Disperse dyes are a large group of azo-dyes utilized in the textile industry. Decolorization of these effluents from industries wastewater is a challenging task. This work evaluates preparing a nanostructure photocatalyst based on graphitic carbon nitride and a metal oxide through a simple hydrothermal process to facilitate degradation of disperse black (DB) dye under light irradiation. After optimizing common parameters, it has been observed that at intrinsic pH of dye aqueous solution (pH ۸), room temperature and ۵% of H۲O۲, this photocatalyst has been able to provide significant performance. (۱۰۰%, ۱۵ min). Furthermore, this photocatalyst showed good reusability and stability for four consecutive degradation experiments. The rate of degradation in this work was investigated via UV-VIS spectrophotometer.
