Abstract:
this paper discusses the problem of voltage rise caused by connecting distributed generation to the weak distribution networks. The method presented in this paper is combination of power factor controller (PFC) with reactive power controller (Q*) to reduce the variation of voltage and OLTC transformer’s tap position. This method uses a series of conditions to switch intelligently between reactive power and power factor control modes. In order to achieve better and more accurate results, proposed method is implemented in radial feeder that equipped with OLTC transformer and stochastic load and generation. Result of simulations has demonstrated that the proposed method has a good performance in reduce the variation of voltage, tap position and amount of losses in the feeder.
