Abstract:

Patient registry refers to the collection of secondary information related to patients, with a specific diagnosis and complete information on the patient's condition and the procedures performed. Registry is an integral and necessary component of comprehensive patient care systems. This system is a comprehensive, accurate and timely data source that causes continuous monitoring of the disease care process and provides an effective and fruitful function to improve the implementation of the patient care program. Chronic respiratory diseases, especially chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which is the most common type of these diseases in the world, are among the factors that can increase the risk of contracting corona and its progression in patients. The aim of this study is a systematic review of registry systems for recording the data of covid-۱۹ disease in patients with COPD. A comprehensive review, in studies published in English, without time limit and by searching keywords in the keywords, title and abstract of reliable scientific databases Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed and Science Direct as well as searching the title of studies in the Cochrane database in ۱۵ Done January ۲۰۲۱. Studies that were a possible answer to the researched question based on the title and content were examined. A total of ۶۳۰ related studies were identified; And finally, ۶ qualified articles were included in this review. The results showed that in ۲ studies, the rate of exacerbation and hospitalization of COPD patients was reduced during the time of Covid-۱۹, and the lack of treatment in COPD patients was a predictor of mortality for these patients. There was no significant difference in COPD patients with non-COPD population, but in COPD patients, the use of health care was increased, which was associated with the risk of admission to the intensive care unit and the need for a ventilator. In other studies, mortality due to corona in COPD patients was increased compared to patients without COPD. In general, the results showed that factors such as being male, history of high blood pressure, heart failure, underlying chronic disease, dementia, old age and low BMI in the entire COPD population. It is associated with increased mortality from covid-۱۹. According to the mentioned cases, in order to investigate the effect of COPD on the course of the Covid-۱۹ disease, as well as several studies conducted in different parts of the world; However, most of the studies were not very successful in reaching a comprehensive and definitive result about the risks, severity of Covid-۱۹in these people and its clinical process. According to the limitations that the implementers of these plans have mentioned in their studies, the lack of access to a large statistical population and the difficulty and bias in the selection criteria of COPD patients are among the most important factors of the unreliability of the results. On the other hand, due to the increasing burden of COPD disease, its importance as a risk factor for Covid-۱۹ disease should be taken seriously. For this reason, creating a registry system to record the data of the Covid-۱۹ disease in COPD patients can provide access to a comprehensive source of information related to the association of these two diseases, which can be used to achieve many research, service and treatment goals.
