Abstract:
In this work, Metal ions doped Cobalt selenide (CoSe)–reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composite films (M-CoSe/GO), which are prepared by combining the SILAR method and electrophoretic deposition, are used as counter electrodes (CEs) for quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs). M-CoSe/GO counter electrode-based QDSSC exhibits power conversion efficiency (η) of ۲.۵۰%, which is higher than the ۱.۹۰% efficiency of cobalt selenide (CoSe). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results show that by the changing counter electrode from CoSe to M-CoSe/GO, the charge transfer resistance is reduced at the counter electrode/electrolyte interfaces and therefore, current density increase from ۱۴.۶۴ mA/cm۲ to ۱۸.۲۹mA/cm۲. M-CoSe/GO counter electrode can be considered as a promising alternative to the noble CoSe counter electrode in QDSSCs.
