Abstract:
Recent years have witnessed such a remarkable growth in the used of numerical methods andFinite Element Method (FEM) softwares such as Abqus for solving the highly complexproblems. On the other hand, use of this technique contributes to minimizing the cost spent forexperimenting an engineering scheme. Besdies, the use of numerical method is beneficial tothose aiming to examine the behaviour of a component or structure under excitations. Thepresent paper seeks to clarify the benefits of Abqus software in analysing the spudcans as thebase cones used in many applications. The data and properties of the considered spudcan havebeen extracted from one of the well-known studies conducted earlier. The whole conditions ofthe spudcan are simulated in Abaqus and the obtained results are validated considering the basicpaper. The results of this study emphasize on the capabilities of the considered technique.
