Critical Discourse Analysis and Translation studies: A Critical Discourse Analysis Approach Toward the Representation of Ideology in Translation

The present study aims to illustrate how critical discourse analysis can help to reveal the ideology behind the discourses in translation texts. s. For the sake of this study, the researcher chooses the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four written by George Orwell (۱۹۴۹) and its two Persian translations, one of them by Hosseini (۱۸۸۲) and the other by Mirabasi (۲۰۰۱). The Chi-square test indicated no meaningful differences between the two translations and the strategies that the two translators adopted to transfer the ideology of the source text.
