Abstract:
The use of concrete pavement in the present age has been considered by engineers due to its long life, reduced maintenance costs, greater strength and other factors. On the other hand, using different additives to concrete is relatively old. Nano-Silica is one of the amazing products of nanotechnology and the use of different fibers due to improving the quality of concrete and especially increasing the tensile strength has always been considered by scientists and researchers. In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the simultaneous effect of these two materials on concrete pavement using ۳, ۵, and ۷% Nano-Silica and polypropylene fibers in lengths of ۱۸, ۲۰, and ۲۲ mm. Fibers were added ۰.۵% by volume of cement to the concrete and compressive and tensile strength tests were performed on specimens with aggregate limited to ۱۹ mm in diameter. Finally, it was found that the use of ۷% Nano-Silica is the most optimal, and the consumption of fibers with a length of ۲۲ mm leaves a higher efficiency and causes a nearly ۲۰% increase in compressive and tensile strength compared to the control sample
