Abstract:

In this study, we used three different generations of biodiesel and examined their properties and emissions: the first generation of rapeseed oil, the second generation of sage oil, and the third generation of waste oil. Saturated acid number, density, viscosity, pour point. , cloudiness, and Stan's number were investigated. The results shown for the flash point showed the principle that the highest flash point was obtained by the first generation while the third generation showed the lowest value among all biodiesel generations. The thermal value obtained for the first generation was the highest value, while the lowest value was for the third generation. Regarding exhaust gases, the highest amount of NOx produced by the third generation of biodiesel is the lowest amount of soot produced by this generation, which is exactly the opposite of the first generation. On the other hand, the third generation of biodiesel has the least unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, which is exactly the opposite of the first generation of biodiesel. All three generations of biodiesel definitely have many points for replacement, but the second generation, because it was between two generations, was more suitable than the other two generations from our point of view
