Abstract:

In this study, we have investigated a coaxial magnetic gearbox. This type of magnetic gearbox is made of two rotors and fixed steel poles between these two rotors. The outer rotor and inner rotor are surrounded by magnets on them. The magnetic directions of these magnets are fixed. In this study, permanent magnets with alternating magnetic directions have been used, which shows that the speed of the inner rotor can be increased compared to the case where the magnetic directions of the magnets are constant and this device can achieve more electricity production with almost the same cost as before by connecting the inner rotor of this type of gearboxes to electric generators. The analytical method used in this study is the Finite Element Method (FEM).
