Abstract:

Waste management or waste disposal includes the processes and actions required to manage waste fromits inception to its final disposal. This includes the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste,together with monitoring and regulation of the waste management process and waste-related laws,technologies, economic mechanisms. Waste management or waste management is a set of activities andmeasures necessary for waste management from the time of production to its final disposal. Theseactivities include collecting, transporting and disposing of waste and monitoring the implementation ofwaste management laws. Waste can be solid, liquid or gas, and each type of waste requires its ownmethods for management. Waste management includes all types of waste, including industrial,biological and household waste. In some cases, waste can be harmful to human health. The goal ofwaste management is to reduce the harmful effects of waste on human health, the environment andaesthetics. A major part of waste management is the management of municipal solid waste, which is thewaste generated by homes, industries, and commercial activities. COVID-۱۹, the novel corona virushas become a household name. The global COVID-۱۹ outbreak, become a pandemic in early ۲۰۲۰, andspurred millions of life across the world. The pandemic is spreading extremely and its impacts uponhuman health and environment intensifying day-by-day. Biomedical waste generated daily due toCOVID-۱۹ are about the major environmental health concern and its critical management becomes aglobal challenge. Tones of COVID-۱۹ contaminated wastes are generated every day worldwide and itssound management is very essential to break the disease transmission. The safe and sustainablemanagement of COVID-۱۹ contaminated biomedical waste (BMW) is a social and legal responsibilityof all people during this critical period of disease transmission. Unsound management of this wastecould cause unforeseen “knock-on” effects on human health and the environment. Health workers,municipal workers, rag-pickers and other persons who are involved directly or indirectly in the COVID-۱۹ war are at high risk and needs to be careful while discharging their responsibility with an efficientand effective waste disposal mechanism.
