When damage occurs in an organ there are several alternatives for the treatment, like organ transplantation, repair, and replacement which is depending on the condition and level of the damage. As there is a limited number of donor tissues, researchers look for alternative ways. Three-dimensional (۳D) bioprinting has emerged as a viable approach for rapid and customized manufacturing of demanding organs and tissue constructs. ۳D bioprinting is a layer-by-layer procedure that dispenses the “bio-ink. Bioinks must have the ability to extrude, maintain their shape fidelity, and have adequate nutrient diffusion, all under biocompatible conditions. Unfortunately, Bioinks like hydrogels, have low mechanical properties and low printability before and during the print, So having an ideal structure as a human organ or tissue still is a matter of debate among researchers. One approach to improving the print fidelity of bioinks is the use of supports. Support materials are commonly used in many AM techniques, but it’s difficult to construct support for soft biological hydrogels. concerning these limitations, researchers are yet to develop current procedures and explore new techniques to provide ideal support to construct practical complex human organs as an alternative way for transplantation. In this paper, some applications and recent advancements in support/sacrificial materials commonly used in ۳D bio-printing were investigated
