PROTECTION OF CASCADE OF HYDROPOWER STATIONS FROM DANGEROUS INFLUENCE OF GEODYNAMIC PROCESSES AND NATURAL DISASTERS (BASED ON OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF VAHSH CASCADE IN TAJIKISTAN)

The issues of vulnerability of hydropower stations cascade on the river of Vahsh have been overviewed. It was proved that insufficient studies of the sections between dams of hydropower stations causes underestimate of the danger of possible landslides. As an example was reviewed in details the Baipaza landslide, which many times blocked a channel of the river. Regular increase in activity of this landslide can cause considerable economic damage Construction of cascade of water reservoir increases the triggering effect and can change a general pattern of seismicity of region.
