Abstract:

In 2001 year activity mud volcanoes in Absheron and Gobustan has sharply increased. In particular, eruptions have occured 21.03.01 - in Buzovna to a hill; 30.05.01. - in Chegil-daniz; 26.06.01 - in volcano Keyreki (area Binagadi, Baku) and 25.10.01 - a volcano in settlement okbatan. Besides in the first halfyear of 2001, as a result of inspection of the volcanos had in central and South Gobustan, new eruptions have been recorded The detailed analysis of seismicity in territory of Azerbaijan for 2000-2005 years on materials RSSC of ANAS has shown, that in 2001 year the active centers of large earthquakes in radius of 100 km from objects of observation are not registered, so activity of the above-named mud volcanos has occured on a background of relative seismic calm. At first sight can seem, that during volcanic activity, in this case, seismicity of value has no. However, it is known, that 25.11.2000 There was a strong Caspian earthquake (K=14; M=6.3), hypocenter which has been removed from volcanos of Absheron and Gobustan on distance ??=70÷120 km was in water area of Southern part of Caspian Sea. Continuous aftershocks activity (M??4.5) the given center proceeded up to the end of April, 2001. By considering the given factor, we consider that exactly the center of the Caspian-Baku earthquake has provoked activity of mud volcanoes in Absheron and Gobustan. And, process of preparation of eruption of mud volcanoes was reflected by observation of all-the-year-round seismogeochemical monitoring of anomalies of hydrogeochemical fields of underground waters on Absheron peninsula. They are located on distance ??=10÷20 km from Baku city and on distance ??=50÷70 km from source of the Caspian Sea – Baku earthquake. These waters are objects of complex observation from 1979 year to present time (2007 year). Thus, the most informative geochemical parameters which have reflected the periods of processes as preparations of mud volcanoes for eruption, and for realization of sensible earthquakes, it is necessary to consider ions: Eh, CO3, SO4, ??(Cl, Br, I), Mg, ??(Na, K) groundwater of objects of observation of seism geochemical monitoring. As a result of the regular analysis of actual material for the period 1979-2006 years it has been repeatedly established (1986-2006 years) that the centers of these seismic events were within the limits of not only Azerbaijan and adjoining water area of Caspian sea, but even - in Turkey (Izmit-17.08.99; MLH=7.8) and Iran (Bam-26.12.03; MLH=7.6) that is in the zone of Caucasian tectonic block..Thus, we established fact of influence of seismic processes to catastrophic earthquake sources on eruptions of mud volcanoes and also reflection of dynamics of their preparation in fluids of Azerbaijan which are removed from on distances more than 2000 km. It is necessary to note that process of eruption on investigated volcanoes, as a rule, occurred after strong seismic event.
