خلاصه مقاله:
Antibiotics are secondary metabolites that could stop the growth or kill microorganisms. E. coliis a gram-negative bacillusthat is one of the most abundant microbial flora in the humandigestive system, but its pathogenic strains are the most common causes of diseases such asbloody diarrhea, food poisoning, high blood pressure, uremia, preterm labor, abortion, infectionor disorders of the urinary and kidney system, and even death are known.Research shows thaturinary tract infection is one of the most common hospital infections and the second cause ofdeath due to disease caused by antibioticresistant E. coli strains. Results obtained from previousstudies, high resistance of E. coli to common antibiotics has been clearly reported. Then doctorshave to use several types of antibiotics simultaneously to treat strong infections. Not only thismatter imposition high medical expenses but also it can be dangerous for countries’ treatmentprotocol. Some studies showed that E. coli is resistant to ampicillin, imipenem, cotrimoxazole, cefixime, gentamicin, ceftazidime, nalidixic acid and sensitive to cefotaxime and clindamycin. Therefore, due to continuous antibiotic resistance changing of this bacteria, it is suggested resultsof urine cultures and antibiogramin different region of country reports to doctors every year toprevent using unnecessary antibiotics. Considering the high prevalence of E. coli infections andthe importance of identifying its antibiotic resistance pattern in the treatment process, thepurpose of this research isstudy and compare the results of researches conducted on theresistance of E. coli isolated from urinary tract infections to common antibiotics
