Abstract:

Titanium oxide is a semiconductor with high energy gap and good economic efficiency, it is a suitablefor use in energy storage sources. Today, titanium oxide nanotubes are used in supercapacitors due totheir effective surface and high reactivity as well as their high ability to transfer electrons.In this research, first titanium oxide nanotubes were synthesized by anodic oxidation method, thenanodization parameters were optimized. The effect of order and length parameters of titanium oxidenanotubes on the structure of nanotubes was discussed and investigated. In order to investigate thecrystalline phase and chemical composition of nanotubes, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) andX-ray energy diffraction spectroscopy (EDX) were used, and the microstructure and morphology ofnanotubes were investigated by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) technique.Electrochemical investigations of the samples were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV),galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) and electrochemical impedance (EIS) tests. The results of thecyclic voltammetry test showed an increase in the value of specific capacitance from ۱۱۵ mFcm-۲ to۵۱۵ mFcm-۲ at a scanning speed of ۱۰۰ mV/s due to decrease in charge transfer resistance as shown atESI curve. The galvanostatic charge-discharge technique also confirmed the quasi-capacitive behaviorof titanium oxide nanotubes.
