Abstract:
THE CURRent work was carried out to investigat the effects of pulse current on temperature distribution microstructure and mechanical properties of 316 stainless steel welds in gas tungsten arc welding process two different welding techniques have been used to fabricate acceptable joints and they are: continuous current GTAW (CCGTAW) ,pulsed current GTAW (PCGTAW.temperature distribution of both techniques was analysed also microstructures and mechanical properties of all the welds were studies optical microscopy images show that current pulsing leads to relatively finer and more equi -axed grain structure in welds . grain refinement is accompanied by an improvement of hardness in weld the measurement of delta -ferrite content of welds show that pulsed current cause a slight increase of delta -ferrite , which is accompanied by a slight reduction of tensile strength and ductility.
