خلاصه مقاله:
Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) are being utilised as materials within hybrid components, in combination with plastics and metals. Although hybrid components provide a combination of advantages from the constituent materials, there are some challenges for the manufacture of high-quality hybrid components, such as weak interface bonding between constituent materials. This research focuses on utilising Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology to control the substrate's surface features to enhance the interfacial bonding. For this purpose, different surface structures were designed and manufactured using AM technology to understand the influence of surface feature on the interface. This parametric study has been conducted on aluminium ۳D printed substrate. The results from Short Beam Shear (SBS) and Flatwise Tensile tests on ۳D printed substrates indicated that interlaminar shear strength of the hybrid component increased by almost ۲۰۰% compares to standard hybrid laminate with non-printed substrate and the normal bonding strength between ۳D printed substrate can be improved significantly (Almost ۱۰۰%).
