The American literature is a term which suggests the literary theories and works in the United States of America. This period starts in eighteenth century when the fundamental changes happened in the domains of culture, social thoughts, economics and politics. Furthermore, that period was simultaneous with independence of United States of America as well as equality between the genders which is also influenced those aforementioned factors. The literature of this era is also got influenced by those changes and the female authors were not an exception in this case. This paper is concentrated on these female authors in this early American literature. The researcher introduces some of the major female author in this era, explains their literary works as well as their approaches. The female authors which are mentioned in this paper are Judith Sarah Murray, Sarah Wentworth Morton, Annis Boudinot Stockton, Susanna Rowson, Hannah Foster, Sarah Kemble Knight and Abigail Adams. These authors made too many works in the genre such as poems, novels, drama and biography which reflect those changes, as well.
