خلاصه مقاله:
This paper describes a new technique for facing two ormulti-phase flow problems for coupling phases with theinterface condition equations. To-date, two phase solvershas typically employed a segregated solution procedure, where interface conditions has to be updated after solvingthe flow properties and then use the old values as newboundary condition for each phases. Recently, somecoupled approaches have been used in which thecoupling of two phases has been applied implicitly. Inone of these approaches, computational nodes werecreated on interface surfaces and these nodes were usedfor implementing the interface condition equationsimplicitly using finite volume (FV) and finite element(FE) approach together. In present paper, the techniqueof thin thickness cells were assessed for implicit couplingof interface conditions with internal domains. With thehelp of this technique, there is no need to change theapproach from FV to FE and one can only use finitevolume approach for all interface conditions. In fact, thistechnique minimizes the changes in ready-madecommercial codes in order to achieve implicit couplingfor two phase flow problems. Here, this technique wereassessed with channel flow benchmark cases for one andtwo phase flows using implementing the dynamicboundary conditions and zero gradient pressureconditions. It has been evaluated on several domain withdifferent sizes, different grid numbers, different interfacelocations as well as different domain angles. Theperformance of this thin thickness cell technique isdemonstrated by excellent concordance with availableresults.
