A smart school enables teachers to share knowledge in a more interesting and easy to understand manner for the students with digital technology. In such a school, the teachers have access to share the lessons using many mediums such as videos, presentations, audios and many other forms of visuals. Nowadays, electronic education and virtual spaces have become more popular among students and teachers, and most of people's time is spent on these networks, so using them along with textbooks will be very useful for better understanding of educational concepts. The over acceptance of these networks is the convenient and faster use by sharing content with each other. In today's era, knowledge and technology are aligned and one cannot get one without the other easily. Virtual space, with its tremendous resources and facilities, provides its users with characteristics such as timelessness, placelessness, interactivity, etc. in the field of knowledge and science. In contrast to traditional education, terms such as classroom without walls, smart school, virtual university, etc. refer to a new type of education, called electronic education, which is rapidly expanding and spreading throughout the world and Iran. Among the characteristics of traditional education is the physical and simultaneous presence at the same time and place of the teacher, content and teaching resources, and face-to-face interaction and participation of people with each other, through which exchange and interactions of knowledge and information are exchanged between people and As a result, changes are made in people's knowledge and the volume and knowledge of people is increased, which is called education and teaching. This transfer of knowledge using information technology platforms is electronic education, which plays a significant role in schools as a successful method of learning science in today's era. In this article, while describing the characteristics of an e-learning environment and examining the challenges and benefits of e-learning, we will express the necessity of creating and using it in smart schools.
