Background and purpose: Breast Cancer is one of the main cancers that most women betweenthe ages of ۳۰ and ۴۵ suffer from. Heredity and lifestyle are the two main causes of this cancer.According to the research and studies done, breastfeeding has a great effect in preventing breastcancer .The world Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP)emphasize the high value of breastfeeding for both mother and child. Exclusive feeding of achild with breast milk in not only a necessity for the baby but also has significant benefits for themother .In this article, we will examine one of the most integral benefits of breastfeeding formothers.Methods: Relevant information was searched from Pub Med and Google scholar databases. Dataanalysis was done qualitatively.Results: Women who breastfeed their babies care more about their health and try to use ahealthier diet .They also avoid smoking and using alcohol, As a result, they have fewer riskfactors for breast cancer than other women.Conclusion: Considering all the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and child, it is necessary toencourage mothers to breastfeed their child more than one year. Also, to prevent this cancer andearly detection, screening programs should be taken seriously.
