Abstract:

Modified Surface Force-Pore Flow Model and a more integrated and extended form of it are two powerful models for the prediction of reverse osmosis membranes behaviors, which both weresuggested by Mehdizadeh and Dickson in 1989. In this study attempts were made to improve potentialfunction and friction function, which are two essential functions in these models. It was attempted to predict the experimental data of water-sodium chloridesolutions by using of these two functions. It was tried to solve the complex and nonlinear equations of velocity and concentration via the advanced numerical methods such as finite difference and finite volume. The results of model predict the behavior of reverse osmosis membranes accordingly
