Recently, border patrol systems have gained interest among those concerned about national security. New technologies are changing all aspects of our lives. National defense is not an exception to this rule and is an important area for the application of these new technologies. Many of these emerging technologies have created a new revolution in improving border security. The Internet of Things makes our environment smarter by having the ability to measure and control. Also, the use of artificial intelligence for analysis and decision-making has grown significantly in the past two decades. Performing calculations by supercomputers provides the possibility of solving big problems in short periods of time. The main challenge is protecting the borders, which, due to the long stretch, require the presence of humans at the patrol site. Conventional border patrol systems include security checkpoints and border forces. Border patrol forces continue patrolling according to predetermined routes based on time and distance. In this article, we study multiple surveillance technologies and their use in order to increase the security of borders and matters related to storage, processing and analysis and making the necessary decisions in real time, which complement the border guard forces to monitor border points.
